Mission Statement

Handibear Hills Horse Sanctuary adopts and cares for abandoned horses, using
them to teach horsemanship and stable management to adults and children.
Handibear Hills has been pursuing these objectives for 30 years, and currently has a 21 stall barn with paddocks. There are 27 horses and ponies in residence this year. This charity is used as an outreach program to individuals who would benefit
from the leadership and life skills that can be acquired through the
discipline of caring for horses and ponies.

Yogi believes that people passionate about horses are:

  • Responsible for their health and welfare;
  • That safe use and humane practices are mandatory,
  • That winning comes in many forms:
  • Starting foremost with respect and concern for the horse.
